Position Overview
This security position provides protection for patients, guests and employees, enforces company policies and procedures, and performs assigned duties that ensure a courteous and professional secure environment.
Key Responsibilities- Enforce all company safety and security rules, regulations, and policies on company property.
- Conduct routine inspections of on‑site and off‑site locations of the company.
- Investigate accidents and incidents, and report all occurrences promptly.
- Perform opening/lockdown of all buildings as approved by administration and complete other safety and security related duties as assigned.
- Participate in emergency response and related preparedness drills.
- Maintain required annual certifications and complete training requirements within the stipulated time periods.
- Adapt behavior to the specific patient population, respecting privacy, and communicate appropriately.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- 1 year of experience in security, law enforcement, or military.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association.
- Valid driver’s license in the state of practice and clean DMV record.
- Crisis Prevention and Intervention (CPI) and firearms training.
- International Association for Healthcare Security & Safety (IAHSS) Certification obtained within 90 days of promotion/hire.
- Employment contingent upon successful completion of the FTO Program within the first 60 days of employment.
- Computer skills and dexterity required for data entry and retrieval of information.
- Proficiency with Windows‑style applications and keyboard.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills; ability to present information clearly to varying levels of individuals.
- Expected to report for duty during disasters as a Team A Essential Personnel.
- Proficient in reading, writing, and speaking English.
- Capable of continuously walking the company property, including outside areas, interior areas, and 11‑story stairwells.
The position requires medium physical effort, including the ability to lift 20–50 pounds occasionally and 10–25 pounds frequently. The workload may involve walking or standing for significant periods and occasional handling of small objects. Exposure to communicable diseases and hazardous medications may occur due to the healthcare setting.
