(Chalmette, LA): Flexicrew Technical Services (FTS) is seeking aMaintenance Helper with basic electrical knowledge and general handyman experience to assist with the maintenance, repair, and upkeep of commercial and industrial facilities. This is an excellent opportunity for a dependable, hands-on individual looking to grow their skills in maintenance and electrical work.
Essential Duties:
- Assist with general building and facility maintenance.
- Perform minor electrical repairs and troubleshooting under supervision.
- Complete basic handyman tasks including painting, carpentry, plumbing repairs, and fixture installation.
- Inspect equipment and report maintenance issues.
- Use hand and power tools safely and effectively.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Follow all company safety policies and procedures.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements/Skills:
- Previous maintenance, handyman, or construction experience preferred.
- Basic electrical experience or knowledge required.
- Ability to use common hand and power tools.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn.
- Reliable transportation and a strong work ethic.
- Ability to follow instructions and work independently or as part of a team.
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to stand, bend, kneel, climb ladders, and work in various weather conditions.
- Capable of performing physically demanding tasks throughout the workday.
- Ability to safely operate tools and equipment.
