As an Industrial Forklift Operator, you will play a vital role within a skilled stevedoring team, ensuring the safe and efficient movement of cargo in a fast-paced maritime environment. - Operate and maintain heavy industrial forklifts (8, lbs.), man lifts, and loaders with a strong emphasis on safety and efficiency.
- Conduct pre-job inspections and perform routine maintenance on assigned equipment to ensure safety and optimal performance.
- Assist with deck and warehouse operations to support overall cargo handling activities.
- Perform quality inspections of various cargoes and accurately record production information according to company standards.
- Transload cargo to and from trucks, railcars, vessels, and barges, ensuring accuracy and adherence to safety protocols.
- Participate in company safety initiatives and follow all operational directives and company policies to maintain a safe work environment.
- High school diploma or equivalent (preferred).
- At least 1 year of experience operating heavy equipment in a maritime or stevedoring environment (preferred).
- Experience in cargo transportation (preferred).
- Ability to safely operate assigned equipment and work effectively as part of a team.
- Proficiency in clerical tasks, record keeping, and equipment operation.
- Must possess a valid TWIC Card.
