Position: Instructional Technologist (Full-time, Onsite)
Wilson College is seeking a forward-thinking Instructional Technologist to support institution-aligned initiatives across face-to-face, hybrid, and online learning environments. Reporting directly to the Director of Academic Technology, this role collaborates with faculty and staff to apply instructional design principles, support educational technologies, deliver technical and pedagogical training, and assist with AV and web-conferencing operations for academic and campus-wide events. Responsibilities are carried out within established priorities and in close coordination with the Director to ensure alignment with Wilson College's strategic goals.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Instructional Design & Faculty Support Collaborates with the Director of Academic Technology to implement departmental goals related to instructional design, faculty development, and course quality. Designs and develops instructional materials, activities, and assessments using evidence-based pedagogy and adult learning theory. Ensures instructional content meets accessibility standards (ADA, WCAG 2.1) and incorporates Universal Design for Learning (UDL) principles. Provides training and consultation for faculty on course development, revision, and effective use of academic technologies.

Develops and maintains asynchronous training modules and knowledge base resources. Reviews and updates course materials to ensure accessibility, consistency, and alignment with institutional guidelines. Educational Technology Implementation & Support Supports the implementation, integration, and maintenance of academic technologies, including the LMS (Canvas), video platforms (YuJa), web conferencing tools (Zoom), LMS-integrated applications, and accessibility tools. Provides user support for faculty, staff, and students through consultations, documentation, and workshops.

Troubleshoots technical issues and coordinates resolution with IT staff or vendors in consultation with the Director. Collects and analyzes usage data and user feedback to recommend improvements to academic technology resources. Audio-Visual & Event Technology Support Provides AV and web-conferencing support for classes, meetings, and campus events, including equipment setup, operation, and troubleshooting. Operates and maintains AV systems such as microphones, projectors, cameras, and streaming tools.

Creates and maintains user documentation for AV and web-conferencing equipment. Professional Development & Campus Engagement Designs and delivers professional development opportunities related to educational technology and pedagogy under the direction of the Director. Participates in approved campus committees, working groups, and task forces as assigned. Engages in ongoing professional learning to remain current with emerging academic technology trends and best practices.

Other Provides flexible support and carries out additional duties aligned with departmental and institutional objectives.

COMPETENCIES:

Expertise in Instructional Design:
Demonstrated knowledge of instructional design frameworks, evidence-based pedagogy, adult learning theory, and Universal Design for Learning (UDL) principles. Educational Technology Proficiency:
Advanced skill in implementing and supporting academic technologies, including Canvas, YuJa, Zoom, LMS-integrated tools, and Microsoft 365. Accessibility & Compliance Awareness:
Strong understanding of WCAG 2.1, ADA requirements, and best practices for creating accessible, inclusive learning materials. Training & Facilitation

Skills:

Ability to design and deliver effective training, workshops, and consultations for users with diverse technical and pedagogical backgrounds. Technical Troubleshooting & Problem Solving:
Strong analytical skills to diagnose technical issues, identify root causes, and coordinate resolution with IT staff or vendors. Communication &

Collaboration:
