+ The Float Pool provides staff the opportunity to train to various departments within Patient Services.
+ Minimum requirements are to work in the Family Birthing Services, NICU and Pediatric Units
+ Previous FBS, NICU and/or Ped experience required.
+ Every 4th weekends.
+ Float Pool differential is $3.50 per hour.
+ Full time (72 hours biweekly)
+
Shift: 12-hour Night
+ Eligible for shift and weekend differential
The Registered Nurse is responsible and accountable for implementing, directing and coordinating the care of patients through the use of the nursing process: assessment, planning implementation and evaluation. Included is recognition and treatment of the physical and psychosocial changes unique to the age/population group served on the specific unit.

Acts as a resource person regarding patient care, specialty area, orientation and teaching of staff.

Responds to delays in a calm manner. Apologizes for inconveniences and gives alternatives.
11.
Analyzes assessment data, identifies priority problems and documents on Plan of Care in PCS for patients and families and significant others.

Uses effective problem-solving skills to plan patient care.
13.
Identifies critical factors evidencing changes in patient condition and responds appropriately.
14.
Completes and documents discharge assessment against plan of care goals.
15.
Initiates and maintains Intravenous Therapy according to IV standards.

Responds appropriately to emergency situations.

Utilizes proper body mechanics to prevent injury to self and others. Safely positions, transfers and transports patients.

Functions as a virtual nurse as assigned which includes, but is not limited to, admissions, discharges, education, documentation through a virtual platform and working collaboratively with the bedside nursing staff.
mplements changes to programming devices in real time based off formalized protocol sets developed by the electrophysiologist. Performed by an RN under the supervision of a physician. RN will collaborate care with the Nurse Practitioner and Physician.

Consistently performs device clinic testing which includes: interrogation of device (remote or in person), programming of device and trans telephonic rhythm strip evaluation.
3.
Demonstrates ability to use device programmer: hooking up patient, printing pacemaker settings, measure pacemaker function and calculate battery life.
4.
Communicates with the cardiologists to revise follow-up visits or planned device replacement.
5.
Establishes, develops and maintains liaison with device (vendor) representatives related to service recommendations, product recalls, and service bulletins/alerts.
6.
Identifies potentially dangerous or life-threatening arrhythmias and notifies Cardiologist immediately.
7.
Evaluates, recognizes/identifies and documents ECG or related abnormalities during diagnostic testing procedures or tracing reviews; promptly communicates abnormalities to physician by noting name, date and time. Documents communications in the patient record.
8.
In Meditech, enters orders noting accuracy of information: correct patient name, correct medical record number, birth date, ordering physician, and account number. Edits orders to the correct status to bill procedure. Amends orders, as needed, to correct date, procedure, ordering physician and/or reason for exam.
