Program Supplier Assurance Engineer - onsite Chambersburg, PA Jobs

This role is based in Chambersburg, PA and requires an active and transferable U.S. government issued security clearance. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

The salary range for this role is $86,800 - $165,200.

This role involves:

• Performing in-process inspections and verification activities to ensure compliance with engineering requirements, specifications, and workmanship standards.
• Conducting source inspections and executing AS9102-compliant First Article Inspection (FAI) verifications.
• Partnering with Letterkenny staff managing nonconforming material processes, including identification, documentation, disposition coordination, and communication with internal teams and suppliers.
• Developing, maintaining, and continuously improving inspection checklists, job aids, and related quality documentation.
• Supporting supplier requests for information and coordinating Return-to-Vendor (RTV) actions to ensure timely and accurate resolution.
• Developing, tracking, and reporting supplier quality metrics to drive transparency and continuous improvement.
• Collaborating with a global Supplier Assurance team and interfacing with feeder suppliers to support quality alignment, issue resolution, and adherence to standards.
• Ensuring flow down of product requirements both internally and to sub-tier suppliers through PO requirements, Quality Notes, and Statements of Work.
• Interpreting and explaining these requirements to ensure supply base both understands and complies with these quality requirements.
• Driving continuous product/process improvements of our supply base by identifying supplier risk & systemic performance issues and driving solutions through various tools/methodologies including:
  Root Cause Corrective Actions, Statistical/analytical improvement tools such as Six Sigma and Lean Methodologies.
• Applying Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) processes related to supplier performance and implementation of necessary engagements to improve supplier manufacturing processes.
• Performing defect data analysis and review with the program managers and supplier management, which will assist in developing Supplier improvement plans.
• Participating on multi-functional teams in problem resolution and continuous improvement activities with an emphasis on six sigma, lean practices and other analytical improvement methods and tools.
• Supporting containment activities associated with discrepant material, with assistance from functional stakeholders.
• Driving the supplier corrective action process, review, approval, and monitoring; assuring containment, closed loop Root Cause Corrective Action is obtained; communicating issue and resolution to functional stakeholders.

Typically requires:

• A university degree or equivalent experience and minimum 5 years of prior relevant experience, or an advanced degree in a related field and a minimum of 3 years of experience.
• Relevant experience is in quality engineering, manufacturing, or related engineering discipline.
• Experience with one or more of the following Quality Management standards: ISO 9001, AS9100, AS9102, AS9103, AS9145, or MDA Assurance Provisions.
• Active and transferable U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start date. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

Preferred qualifications include:

• Bachelor's degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math (STEM).
• Previous experience interpreting schematic drawings and hardware inspection techniques.
• Previous experience generating and presenting to leadership and suppliers key metrics and performance reviews.
• Knowledge of industry technical standards (such as ANSI, CMMI, ASTM, etc.)
• Effective written/verbal Communications Skills
• Certifications - Six Sigma, Lean, ASQ, ISO 9001 Auditor
• Experience with cables and wiring harnesses, electro-mechanical assemblies, machined components, and/or final integration of end-item assemblies.
• GD&T Knowledge, understanding, and practical application
• Experience implementing modern Quality Assurance and Control methodologies such as Statistical Process Controls (SPC), Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP), and Continuous Improvement in a supplier setting.
• Practical knowledge of Aerospace or commercial equivalent Preventative tools - APQP, PPAP, SPC, FMEA, etc.
• Practical knowledge of Root Cause Corrective Action processes
• Practical knowledge of Special Manufacturing Processes and their management
• Practical knowledge of First Article Inspection and AS9102 management
• Experience with hardware inspection techniques
