Position: Police Officer with Security Clearance
Duties
* Respond to emergency calls and alarms, assesses probable cause, exercises search and arrest authority, and performs initial lifesaving first aid as a first responder.
* Collect and preserve physical evidence, conduct routine preliminary investigations, and interview witnesses. Prepare case facts under established guidelines and provides clear, truthful testimony in military, federal, or state courts.
* Operate specialized traffic equipment (radar, Lidar, breathalyzer) during patrols, conduct investigative stops, issue citations, executes high-speed pursuits when necessary, and manage traffic control points.
* Protect personnel, tactical military assets, and high-value assets by executing comprehensive Antiterrorism/Force Protection measures to deter and deny unauthorized access, and maintains proficiency through installation AT exercises.
* Operate National Crime Information Center terminals to transcribe data in compliance with regulations. Generate standard police reports, processes fingerprints/DNA samples, and prepare administrative documentation. Requirements Conditions of employment
* Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
* Incumbent must successfully graduated from the Civilian Police Academy; or successfully graduate within 12 months of hire date; or is a current employee and is considered grandfathered IAW AR 190-56.
* Incumbent must be able to successfully pass training, certification and qualification requirements related to law enforcement such as; weapons qualifications, first aid/CPR and National Incident Management System (NIMS) training requirements.
* Incumbent must successfully pass a pre-employment and recurring medical evaluation.
* Incumbent must successfully pass a Physical Agility Test (PAT) within 30 days of hire date and annually thereafter.
* Incumbent must comply with and maintain the requirements of the Individual Reliability Program (IRP).
* This is a Testing Designated Position (TDP) and is covered by the Alcohol and Drug Abuse Prevention and Control Program. IAW AR 600-85, a DA 5019R Condition of Employment must be signed for mandatory drug testing.
* The 1996 Lautenberg Amendment to the Gun Control Act of 1968 covers this position. Persons convicted of a misdemeanor or felony crime of domestic violence are not eligible for this position.
* The 1996 Lautenberg Amendment to the Gun Control Act of 1968 covers this position. Incumbent is subject to removal from the position if convicted of a felony IAW Sect 639 of P.L. 106-554 eff Jan 20, 2001.
* Incumbent in this position is designated as Mission Essential (IAW DODI 3024.42 and DTM 17-004) position during Inclement Weather Conditions or other designed/identified emergency conditions.
* Incumbent must possess a valid state driver's license and be able to obtain and maintain a government motor vehicle operator's license.
* Hours of work is subject to irregular and/or rotating shifts, evenings, nights, weekends and holidays. Incumbent is required to work overtime as directed and is subject to recall for emergency overtime.
* TDY (temporary travel) of 10% of the time is required.
* Incumbent is subject to possible civil action due to improper exercises of authority or injudicious use of force in the apprehension or detention of individuals.
* This is a drug testing designated position (TDP) under the Department of the Army Drug-Free Federal Workplace Program in accordance with AR 600-85.
* This position is designated Tier 3, Non-Critical Sensitive, Moderate Risk and requires the incumbent to obtain and maintain a Secret Security Clearance Level as a condition of employment.
