Strayer University is seeking a dynamic Adjunct Faculty member to join our academic team. We are currently in search of a passionate professor for an undergraduate sociology class for the upcoming Summer quarter, starting July 6th 2026, in a hybrid format. The hybrid format is described as teaching the course in both the in-person and online modalities. This role requires 11 in-person meeting sessions for 2 hours each week held at a predetermined scheduled time (day/evening) at a specific Strayer University Campus.

The balance of the course is instructed asynchronously online.

• Teach courses as assigned from a pre‑designed curriculum and utilize your professional expertise to provide high‑quality instruction.
• Enhance the strength and effectiveness of the curriculum using technology and videos.
• Arrive on‑campus at least half an hour prior to the start time of in‑person sessions per week during the academic quarter.
• Utilize the online learning platform to enrich the student learning experience for the online component of the course.
• Be available to students via email, phone, text, and office hours to ensure students receive quality feedback in a timely manner to support their academic success.
• Establish high standards and ensure students understand how they will be evaluated.
• Adhere to University policies and procedures.
• Attend faculty meetings and workshops or training as required.

• Demonstrated knowledge of academic technology.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, etc.) software and overall computer skills.
• Demonstrated knowledge of academic evaluation.
• Proficiency in oral presentation skills, planning, and organizing of course objectives.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Effective time management skills.

• Teaching experience at the college level and online teaching experience are strongly preferred.
• Evidence of academic or professional experience with scientific reasoning, collaboration, and diverse and ethical perspectives required.

• Master's degree in Sociology required, or
• Master's degree in any social science (PSY, EDU) with at least 12 graduate semester hours in sociology required, or
• Master's degree in any area with at least 18 semester or 27 quarter hours of graduate coursework in sociology required.

• Professional certification in discipline specialty (if applicable).

• Must be able to travel weekly to required location(s).
• Must be able to lift 25 lbs.

• Mobility within the office, including movement from floor to floor.
• Travel via plane, car, and metro may be required to perform this job.
• Must be able to work more than 40 hours per week when business needs warrant.
• Access information using a computer.
