Strayer University is seeking a dynamic Adjunct Faculty member to join our academic team. We are currently in search of a passionate professor for an undergraduate sociology class for the upcoming Summer quarter, starting July 6th 2026, in a hybrid format. The hybrid format is described as teaching the course in both the in-person and online modalities. This role requires 11 in-person meeting sessions for 2 hours each week held at a predetermined scheduled time (day/evening) at a specific Strayer University Campus.
The balance of the course is instructed asynchronously online.

- Teach courses as assigned from a pre‑designed curriculum and utilize your professional expertise to provide high‑quality instruction.
- Enhance the strength and effectiveness of the curriculum using technology and videos.
- Arrive on‑campus at least half an hour prior to the start time of in‑person sessions per week during the academic quarter.
- Utilize the online learning platform to enrich the student learning experience for the online component of the course.
- Be available to students via email, phone, text, and office hours to ensure students receive quality feedback in a timely manner to support their academic success.
- Establish high standards and ensure students understand how they will be evaluated.
- Adhere to University policies and procedures.
- Attend faculty meetings and workshops or training as required.
- Demonstrated knowledge of academic technology.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, etc.) software and overall computer skills.
- Demonstrated knowledge of academic evaluation.
- Proficiency in oral presentation skills, planning, and organizing of course objectives.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Effective time management skills.
- Teaching experience at the college level and online teaching experience are strongly preferred.
- Evidence of academic or professional experience with scientific reasoning, collaboration, and diverse and ethical perspectives required.
- Master's degree in Sociology required, or
- Master's degree in any social science (PSY, EDU) with at least 12 graduate semester hours in sociology required, or
- Master's degree in any area with at least 18 semester or 27 quarter hours of graduate coursework in sociology required.
- Professional certification in discipline specialty (if applicable).
- Must be able to travel weekly to required location(s).
- Must be able to lift 25 lbs.
- Typical office setting.
- Mobility within the office, including movement from floor to floor.
- Travel via plane, car, and metro may be required to perform this job.
- Must be able to work more than 40 hours per week when business needs warrant.
- Access information using a computer.
- Effectively communicate, both up and down the management chain.
- Effectively cope with stressful situations.
- Strong mental acuity.
- Regular, dependable attendance and punctuality are essential functions of this job.
