Position: *NEW CAMPUS* Adjunct Faculty, Sociology, Atlanta (Hybrid) *CAMPUS WILL NOT BE CHAMBLEE, GA*

Provides quality education and maintains high standards of academic excellence in teaching assigned courses in the discipline. Adjunct hybrid faculty teach assigned courses in person and asynchronously online. This role also maintains office hours as assigned.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
  • Teach an undergraduate sociology class for the upcoming Summer quarter (starting July 6th, 2026) in a hybrid format—11 in‑person sessions of 2 hours each per week and a balance of asynchronous online instruction.
  • Arrive on‑campus at least half an hour before the start time of in‑person sessions.
  • Provide high‑quality instruction using a pre‑designed curriculum and professional expertise.
  • Enhance the curriculum with technology, including videos and the online learning platform.
  • Be available to students via email, phone, text, and office hours to provide timely feedback and support academic success.
  • Establish high standards and clarify evaluation criteria for students.
  • Adhere to university policies and procedures.
  • Attend faculty meetings, workshops, and training sessions as required.
Job Skills
  • Demonstrated knowledge of academic technology and proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
  • Strong oral presentation, planning, and course organization skills.
  • Excellent written and oral communication abilities.
  • Effective time‑management and ability to juggle multiple responsibilities.
  • Proficiency in academic evaluation and assessment.
Work Experience
  • Teaching experience at the college level and online teaching experience strongly preferred.
  • Evidence of academic or professional experience with scientific reasoning, collaboration, and diverse and ethical perspectives.
Education
  • Master’s degree in Sociology required.
  • Or Master’s degree in any social science (Psychology, Education) with at least 12 graduate semester hours in Sociology.
  • Or Master’s degree in any area with at least 18 semester or 27 quarter hours of graduate coursework in Sociology.
Certificates, Licenses, and Registrations
  • Professional certification in discipline specialty (if applicable).
Other Requirements
  • Must be able to travel weekly to required location(s) and lift up to 25 lbs.
  • Typical office setting with mobility across floors; travel by plane, car, and metro may be required.
  • Must be able to work more than 40 hours per week when business needs warrant.
  • Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States; visa sponsorship is not available.
Compensation

$2,300–$2,600 is the expected starting pay per online assignment per quarter, and $3,000 per on‑campus assignment per quarter. Pay may vary based on location and assignment type.
