Project Manager​/Project Engineer - Water Resources

Lead impactful water resources projects where your work supports resilient infrastructure and sustainable stormwater solutions across the Southeast. At Thomas & Hutton, you’ll take ownership of complex projects, guide a growing team, and collaborate with multidisciplinary professionals to deliver high-quality solutions for public and private sector clients. • Lead and manage water resources projects including stormwater master planning, drainage design, and hydrologic and hydraulic modeling.
• Oversee the development of watershed studies, capital improvement projects, and stormwater management solutions.
• Perform and manage hydrologic and hydraulic analyses (1D/2D modeling) and drainage design.
• Design and oversee stormwater management systems, erosion and sediment control plans, and NPDES permitting efforts.
• Develop and review contract documents including plans, specifications, and cost estimates.
• Coordinate with clients, contractors, consultants, regulatory agencies, and multidisciplinary teams.
• Manage project scope, schedules, and budgets, including proposal development and fee negotiations.
• Perform and oversee FEMA Letter of Map Changes and related studies.
• Provide leadership, mentorship, and technical guidance to team members.
• Monitor project progress to ensure alignment with scope, schedule, and budget goals.

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license required (Georgia preferred).
• 10+ years of experience in water resources engineering.
• Strong experience in hydrologic and hydraulic modeling and stormwater management design.
• Experience with green infrastructure and low impact development practices.
• Experience with erosion and sediment control design and permitting.
• Proficiency in preparing construction plans, specifications, and cost estimates.
• Working knowledge of AutoCAD, Arc Map, and hydrologic/hydraulic modeling software.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to lead client interactions.
• Proven ability to manage multiple projects and appropriately prioritize workflow.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Ability to mentor staff and lead a high-performing team.
• Ability to perform field work including lifting up to 25 pounds.

On‑site:
Monday–Thursday 7:30 a.m.–5:30 p.m.;
Friday 7:30 a.m.–11:30 a.m.
