Job Overview
Location:
Chamblee, GA (on site). Full‑time position. The Quality Control / NDE Inspector performs product assessments and dimensional measurements on components, turbines, stationary components, control components, and generators throughout the repair cycle. The role is focused on ensuring compliance with drawing specifications and GE‑Vernova procedures.
New hires work the 1st shift (Monday‑Friday, 6:00AM – 2:30PM ET) during training, then transition to the 2nd shift (Monday‑Friday, 4:10PM – 1:00AM ET). Overtime is available but not mandatory. Shift changes are based on business needs and customer demand.
Responsibilities- Participate in safety training and enforce personal and co‑worker safety.
- Perform inspections on steam and stationary components inside the factory and on site when assigned.
- Inspect generator rotors and other components both in‑house and on site.
- Support workforce development by developing skills and abilities.
- Conduct hardness testing, visual inspections, and dimensional measurements.
- Use quality inspection measuring tools as outlined in the skills matrix.
- Execute Standard and I & T Plans, communicate clearly, and document results.
- Track Standard and I & T Plans and associated QC records.
- Release product for shipping based on inspection outcomes.
- Inspect received parts in shipping/receiving and route receipts.
- Set up and operate hardness testing for Equotip and Faro Arm with bore scope.
- Gather and perform all work required to document I & T Plans to completion.
- Demonstrate strong communication and work skills per the Behavioral Skills section of the Skills Matrix.
- Perform other functions as assigned.
- High School diploma or GED.
- 2+ years of technical experience with power generating equipment (steam and/or gas turbines).
- Previous quality control and/or nondestructive inspection experience.
- Experience with a variety of machines and components from both fleet and OEM sources.
- Strong math skills for complex calculations (e.g., geometry, blueprint reading).
- Proficiency with hand and automated measuring tools of varying sizes.
- Ability to work independently and with others under stressful conditions.
- Capability to follow written and verbal instructions to solve complex problems.
- Documentation and procedural training skills.
Pay rate: $27.68 USD per hour. The company provides a geographic differential of 110–130% of salary in certain areas.
