HoursPT Nights – 36 hours per pay period:
One 12‑hour shift one week, Two 12‑hour shifts the next week
- The RN Clinical Nurse is a proactive member of an interdisciplinary team of licensed and unlicensed care givers who ensure that patients, families and significant others receive individualized high quality, safe patient care.
- Performs the Nursing Process (assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation) utilizing evidence‑based practice, analytical and critical thinking to deliver individualized care and coordinate care through effective partnerships.
- Provides relationship‑based, patient‑centered care that is consistent with population‑specific characteristics (e.g., age, gender, disease) and adapts service delivery to reflect an understanding of cultural diversity.
- Conducts bedside shift reports and keeps the patient and significant others updated, keeping the patient’s goals the focus of the plan of care.
- Coordinates the delivery and documentation of safe, quality patient care that promotes the professional care delivery model and demonstrates teamwork and collaboration while being fiscally responsible.
- Participates and supports performance improvement activities, research utilization, and shared governance at all levels of the system.
- Serves as a preceptor or mentor for other professional nurses, staff or students, fostering a qualified future workforce and a healthy work environment.
- Promotes evidence‑based practice, nursing research, and performance improvement; participates in activities such as value analysis to inform decision making.
- Upholds all health‑care system policies, procedures, and clinical competencies, including legal, regulatory, and accreditation requirements such as TJC Patient Safety Goals and Wellstar Health Systems’ safety absolutes.
- Participates in data collection and poses relevant clinical questions to support evidence‑based practice, proactively planning for patient care across the continuum.
- Assists in the development of protocols and procedures when called upon or through self‑initiation with care managers and other health‑care team members to achieve best practice outcomes.
- Complies with all Well Star Health System policies, standards of work, and code of conduct.
- Associate’s Degree in Nursing or graduation from an accredited/approved nursing school – Required
- Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing – Preferred
- Less than one year of completion from an accredited/approved nursing program with required clinical hours – Required
- Direct patient care experience – Preferred
- RN – Single State or Multi‑state Compact – Required
