Job Description
Your Role:
- Participates in safety training and ensures personal safety as well as the safety of co‑workers
- Performs duties as assigned by Supervisor and Leadman
- Performs inspection on steam and stationary components within the factory and on site (if assigned to site work)
- Performs inspection on generator rotors and components within the factory and on site (if assigned to site work)
- Participates in workforce development to develop skills and abilities
- Conducts hardness testing
- Performs visual inspections
- Takes dimensional measurements
- Makes visual assessments
- Uses quality inspection measuring tools identified on the skills matrix
- Performs necessary steps per Standard and I&T Plans
- Communicates clearly and professionally with others
- Tracks Standard and I&T Plans and supporting QC records
- Releases product for shipping
- Inspects received parts in shipping and receiving‑receipts routing
- Sets up and operates hardness testing for Equotip
- Sets up and operates Faro Arm and bore scope
- Gathers or performs all work necessary to document I&T Plans; tracks to completion
- Demonstrates high quality communication and work skills per the Behavioral Skills section of the Skills Matrix
- Performs other functions as assigned
Basic Qualifications:
- High School diploma or GED
- 2+ years of technical experience with a variety of power‑generating equipment (steam and/or gas turbines)
Desired
Qualifications:
- Previous quality‑control and/or nondestructive inspection experience would be desirable
- Significant experience working with a variety of machines and components, both fleet and other OEMs
- Strong math skills and the ability to perform complex mathematical calculations (e.g., understanding geometry, reading blueprints)
- Ability to use hand and automated measuring tools of various sizes and complexities
- Ability to work independently and with others under stressful conditions
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions to solve complex problems
- Ability to document and follow proper procedures and train others to do so
The pay rate for this position is $27.68 USD per hour.
* The Company pays a geographic differential of 110%, 120% or 130% of salary in certain areas.
