Food and Consumable associates are focused on taking care of customers and creative merchandising. They move incoming merchandise to the sales floor and create seasonal display features to meet customer needs. For complete job duties and requirements, see the Job Description.

As a Walmart America’s leading grocery store associate, you will make important decisions about the quality of fruit and vegetables our customers eat and feed to their families. You will work in one of the fresh food departments, including deli, bakery, or dry grocery, to provide excellent customer service and maintain product quality.

• Work in the deli and be on the front lines of customer service—your smile can make the difference between a good shopping experience and a great one.
• Help customers celebrate special moments in the bakery by assisting with cake orders and decorating.
• Ensure customers find the items they are looking for in the dry grocery department.
• Maintain detailed cleaning of shelves and department, check and maintain temperature control, verify dates, and dispose of lesser quality food products.

We are looking for individuals with a passion for fresh food or grocery.

• Help customers find the products they are looking for.
• Ensure high quality products are available in produce, deli, bakery, dairy, meat, and other departments.
• Pack ready-to-sell products in proper containers and stock displays.
• Prepare and serve ready-to-eat food.
• Assist customers in ordering cakes, fulfilling deli orders, or finding the right produce.
• Keep area clean, sanitized, and customer-ready.

Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance incentives. Premiums may be paid in amounts ranging from $0.35 per hour to $3.00 per hour in specific circumstances, depending on schedule, facility, season, or specific work performed. Multiple premiums may apply if criteria are met.
