Senior Associate; CAAS- Nonprofit Industry

Position Overview

Senior accountant position in the CAAS (Nonprofit Industry) group. Opportunities in Champaign, Peoria, Oak Brook, and Chicago, Central East Illinois.

• Develop an understanding of each client’s business and organizational operations; manage multiple clients, associated software, and chart of accounts on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis.
• Coordinate and process accounts payable, cash disbursements, accounts receivable, cash receipts, and posting of payroll transactions.
• Coordinate and review account reconciliations (prepaids, accounts receivable, fixed assets, accounts payable, and accruals); complete complex reconciliations (investments, debt, industry‑specific); prepare, understand, and review financial statements; review general ledger, cash flow, allocations, and proactively create process and procedure documentation, building backups.
• Complete sales tax returns, Form 1099s, and prepare audit work papers, tax return work papers, and other client requested documents on a quarterly/annual basis.
• Oversee workflow and quality of work for Associates and Analysts; supervise and ensure the efficiency and quality of the work produced.
• Assist with projects for internal audit, due diligence, system selection, and other consultative projects.

• At least two years of relevant accounting and/or financial experience.
• Bachelor’s degree is required; a combination of related experience, education, and training may be accepted in lieu of a degree.

Wage range for this position in Illinois: $65,100.00 – $.
