Job Summary

The Senior Accountant is a member of the Finance Team. This role is responsible for maintaining accurate and timely financial records, including accounts payable, inventory control, project costing, and fixed assets. The ideal candidate is eager to learn new systems, collaborate with teams to develop and streamline processes, and bring strong organizational, problem-solving, Excel, and Power BI skills. As part of the team, this person will meet schedules and deadlines to ensure financial information is reported accurately and on time.

Duties/Responsibilities

  • Prepare monthly journal entries and account reconciliations
  • Assist with month-end, quarter end, and year end close processes
  • Maintain fixed asset records and depreciation schedules
  • Assist with annual audit
  • Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and accuracy
  • Update and maintain accounting journals, ledger, and other records dealing with finance business transactions
  • Reconcile records with internal employees, management, and vendors
  • Support A/P processing
  • All other duties as assigned

Education and Experience Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting required
  • CPA or MBA preferred
  • Minimum of 4 years of progressive accounting experience required
  • Public accounting experience desired but not required

  • Proven ability to prioritize work in a fast-paced environment
  • Self-starter with the ability to work independently and identify solutions
  • Strong understanding of financial metrics, ratios, statements, and other measures
  • Experience in project management and driving process improvement
  • Ability to adapt to changes in processes, procedures and priorities
  • Excellent communication and relationship building skills with an ability to effectively communicate, prioritize, and work with a variety of internal and external stakeholders.
  • Experience in accounting ERP systems (Net Suite, Oracle, SAP, etc.)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Strong attention-to-detail, organizational skills, time management skills, and proven ability to meet deadlines with thorough follow through
  • Acts with integrity, including handling confidential and sensitive information

Physical Requirements

The successful candidate will be able to perform the following with or without reasonable accommodation:

  • Long periods of sitting
  • Ability to lift 10 pounds
  • Some travel required; 10% ability to travel via commercial air/driving

The salary range for this position is: $74,000 – $111,000 annually

Actual base pay for this job will depend on the candidate's primary work location and other factors, such as relevant skills and experience. Pavlov Media is committed to complying with the Equal Pay Act and places a strong emphasis on internal equity when determining compensation. Final pay will be determined based on the candidate’s skills, experience, and alignment with our internal equity standards, ensuring fairness and consistency across the organization.

The salary banding for this role also allows room for growth, with opportunities for pay increases within the band based on performance and contributions.
