Job Type: Temporary Contract – 6+ Months / indefinite

Schedule: Monday–Friday, 1st Shift, 8:00 AM–4:30 PM or 8:00 AM–5:00 PM

Work Arrangement: 100% Onsite

We are hiring an Accountant to join the Accounting team of a manufacturing company in Hillside, Illinois
. This is a 6+ month temporary position supporting the accounting department with Accounts Payable, monthly close, reconciliations, fixed assets, and general accounting projects.

This is an excellent opportunity for accounting professional who has at least 2 years of accounting experience and wants to expand their general accounting experience in a manufacturing environment.

• Perform daily Accounts Payable (AP) functions.
• Review and reconcile invoices against items and quantities received.
• Review and code freight invoices.
• Enter invoices and payables into the ERP/accounting system.
• Review unvouchered receipts reports and research discrepancies.
• Communicate with vendors and internal departments to resolve invoice, pricing, quantity, and receiving discrepancies.
• Assist with weekly ACH and check runs

• Assist with month-end close activities.
• Prepare journal entries and account reconciliations.
• Prepare monthly bank reconciliations.
• Assist with general ledger accounting activities.
• Monitor and analyze project costs.
• Maintain fixed asset records.
• Record fixed asset acquisitions and disposals.
• Reconcile the fixed asset ledger to the fixed asset database.
• Prepare monthly depreciation reports.
• Assist the accounting team with various accounting projects and backlog.
• Support other accounting functions as needed.

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required.
• At least 2 years of accounting experience

• Accounts Payable experience.
• General accounting experience preferred.
• Manufacturing accounting experience strongly preferred.
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel

• Experience working with an ERP/accounting system
  .
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Good mathematical and analytical skills.
• Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently while also collaborating with an accounting team.

The ideal candidate will have a background in accounting or accounts payable within a manufacturing environment and be comfortable working with invoices, reconciliations, ERP systems, and financial data.

Candidates with titles such as Junior Accountant, Staff Accountant, Accounting Assistant, Accounts Payable Specialist, AP Accountant, Accounting Specialist, or General Accountant are encouraged to apply.
