The position will be responsible for receiving, storing, and tracking gas, liquid, and solids samples received from clients or produced within our labs. Organize, enter sample metadata, and stage incoming samples for laboratory analysis. Communicate related lab processing information with internal staff, management, and external clients.
QHSSERequired to follow all QHSSE and Compliance policies and procedures and complete training by using all systems as defined by Stratum. You are responsible for creating opportunities for improvement, report and investigate incidents, non-conformities, and operative issues. Employees must submit STAR cards and report any risks identified on the job. Participation in meetings and general activities created to help in prevent risks is required.
The employee is responsible to stop the job and assess whether the conditions are safe to continue work. If applicable, must be responsible for completing all required QHSSE and Compliance reporting.
- Receive and sort gas, oil, water, and solid samples from various couriers and clients for log-in to LIMS system.
- Review chain of custody / inventory documentation against sample received for log-in to LIMS system.
- Perform data entry of sample information into LIMS system.
- Accurately identify and label samples with exceptional attention to detail.
- Resolve and document discrepancies or compromised samples.
- Maintain inventory control for samples pending analysis approval.
- Assist with sample storage and sample disposition post analysis.
- Ability to self-organize daily work schedule and handle multiple tasks and projects concurrently.
- Maintain a clean, organized working environment.
- Must comply with safety rules, training, confidentiality practices and company policies of Stratum Reservoir
- Perform various other duties as assigned by the supervisor within the physical constraints of the job.
- Overtime may be required on occasion.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office and related software
- Able to use printers, scanners, and related office equipment.
- Excellent phone and email communication
- High School diploma or general education degree (GED).
- Effective oral and written communication skills.
- Basic computer skills - Microsoft Office and Email.
- Must pass a drug test.
- Experience in client facing customer service.
- Experience in a scientific laboratory setting.
