Student Employee Pool - Adult Education and Workforce Development

Hourly Rate: $15.00

Student employees are hired on an as‑needed basis. This is a pooled position; there is not a single open spot. Applications are collected and reviewed over time, and qualified applicants may be contacted for an interview as positions become available. All student employment applications will remain on file until April 2027. All student employment positions are part‑time, 19 hour or less per week, and are temporary/seasonal appointments.

Some positions may require federal work study. The work schedule is dependent upon departmental needs and employee availability, with typical work hours between 8 AM and 5 PM, Monday‑Friday.

Essential Job Functions
  • Answer phone calls and greet visitors; respond to inquiries and provide appropriate information; take messages when needed.
  • File and retrieve documents, records, and reports.
  • Open, sort, and distribute incoming correspondence, including faxes and email.
  • Create documents using Microsoft Office applications.
  • Assist with completing forms in accordance with department procedures.
  • Create and manage paper or electronic filing systems, updating paperwork, or maintaining documents.
  • Provide assistance with website content as needed.
  • Operate office equipment such as copiers, PCs, and phone systems.
  • Perform all other related duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements
  • Meet all eligibility requirements for student employment as determined by Financial Aid.
  • This position requires Federal Work Study.
  • Knowledge of proper telephone techniques and etiquette, excellent spelling, grammar, and proofreading skills.
  • Accurate typing ability.
  • Knowledge of general office procedures and office filing systems.
  • Ability to operate standard office equipment, including PCs, multi‑line telephone, and copy/fax machines.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite applications (Access, Excel, Word).
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision.
