POSITION SUMMARY

Under the direction of the Director Analytics System, the Senior Revenue Cycle Business Analyst is responsible for developing standard reports that serve the needs of our business users. They will play a key role in projects across revenue cycle functions, focusing on analysis of data to inform management, drive accountability, and guide business decisions. The analyst works directly with project and business leaders to identify analytical requirements, locate data sources, develop financial models, and create presentations to inform senior management.

ESSENTIAL

RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES
  • Develop, test, and deploy standard reports and dashboards based on business requirement document specifications.
  • Collaborate with Business Systems Analysts and key business users to ensure requirements and report specifications are documented accurately and completely.
  • Incorporate data from multiple sources (hospital and physician billing system, budget system, cost accounting system, general ledger) into evaluations.
  • Lead or participate in special projects that require research and analysis; partner with other business areas to identify and resolve issues.
  • Conform to hospital standards of performance and conduct, including patient rights and behavioral standards.
  • Foster collaboration across the team and revenue cycle stakeholders to ensure alignment of strategies and initiatives.
  • Apply data science to operational revenue cycle challenges, including predictive and prescriptive analytics for denials management, AR optimization, and cash forecasting.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
  • Bachelor’s degree required (preferably in Health Informatics, Finance, Business, or related field);
    Master’s degree preferred.
  • Epic Revenue Data Model (Clarity) certification required.
  • 3+ years of related managed healthcare or insurance operations experience.
  • Excellent understanding of hospital billing and professional billing data.
  • Expertise with SQL, Crystal Reports, Tableau, relational database concepts, data modeling, and OLAP technologies.
EXPERIENCE

3+ years of related managed healthcare or insurance operations experience; demonstrated ability to work with hospital billing and professional billing data.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS
  • Strong critical thinking and innovative mindset to drive analytics toward modern, industry‑standard technologies.
  • Ability to work independently and handle complex, demanding environments with time‑sensitive deadlines.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Advanced data analytics and governance expertise to develop, maintain, and standardize certified datasets.
  • Experience developing predictive models and root cause analysis frameworks.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills with physicians, management, staff, and other internal/external customers.
  • Ability to translate and communicate key analyses to senior management concisely.
  • Proficient in Excel, PowerPoint, Access, and other analytical tools; ability to train others.
  • Team player, change agent, effective prioritizer, and motivated learner.
COMPENSATION RANGE

$78,000.00 – $ (based on minimum job qualifications; includes benefits such as medical, dental, vision, pharmacy, discretionary bonuses, merit increases, Flexible Spending Accounts, 403(b) savings matches, paid time off, and career advancement opportunities).
