Role Overview

As the ADA & Leave of Absence (LOA) Case Manager, you will administer and manage clients' leave and accommodation programs by coordinating Federal, State, and client‑specific policies and plans. Your work will ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations, including the Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA), Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), state leave programs, and client‑specific policies, while providing a high‑quality employee experience.

Responsibilities
  • Serve as the subject‑matter expert for client‑specific LOA and ADA accommodation programs, including FMLA and state leave laws.
  • Administer and manage leave and accommodation cases from initiation through resolution with timely and accurate processing.
  • Lead and facilitate the ADA interactive process by engaging employees, supervisors, healthcare providers, and other stakeholders to assess accommodation needs and job requirements.
  • Review medical documentation for completeness, sufficiency, and consistency with leave eligibility and accommodation requests.
  • Evaluate the impact of medical conditions and functional limitations on essential job functions and leave eligibility.
  • Identify and recommend reasonable accommodations in accordance with ADA regulations and client policies.
  • Coordinate cases when ADA, FMLA, Short‑Term Disability (STD), Workers' Compensation (WC), and other absence programs overlap.
  • Research and apply applicable federal, state, and client‑specific regulations to support case decisions and ensure compliance.
  • Utilize appropriate clinical, legal, and operational resources as needed to support complex case management decisions.
  • Ensure quality standards for case management are consistently met and participate in continuous quality improvement initiatives.
  • Maintain complete, accurate, and timely case documentation in accordance with company standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Proactively communicate with employees, managers, healthcare providers, and client contacts to provide updates and ensure positive customer experiences.
  • Support Intake, Customer Service, and other operational teams as needed to ensure seamless service delivery.
  • Effectively manage a high‑volume caseload, prioritize competing demands, and provide timely intervention while maintaining confidentiality.
  • Demonstrate adherence to Alight values, policies, performance standards, and service expectations.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Experience in Leave of Absence case management, ADA accommodations, disability case management, or related absence management programs preferred.
  • 1+ year of customer service experience required.
  • Knowledge of FMLA, ADA, state leave laws, and related employment regulations preferred.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills; ability to interact clearly, concisely, and professionally with employees, managers, healthcare providers, executives, legal partners, and subject‑matter experts.
  • Basic knowledge of medical terminology and professional telephone etiquette.
  • Ability to manage sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
  • Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem‑solving skills.
  • Ability to prioritize work effectively and manage a significant volume of cases within established performance standards.
  • Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment with competing priorities and short deadlines.
  • Typing speed of 50+ words per minute.
  • Intermediate to advanced computer proficiency, including experience with case management systems and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Agreement that this is a temporary position with an anticipated duration of 9 to 12 months.
Compensation

Salary range: $50,000 – $55,000 USD.
