Position: Project Manager, Electrical (Traveling)

Specialty contractor in Kansas City is looking for a Project Manager to support their pipeline of Data Center and Advanced Manufacturing projects. Exciting opportunity to support complex/advanced construction projects.

Looking for experience with self-performing construction project management

  • Significant travel required (includes travel expenses, per diem, etc.)
Responsibilities:
  • Manage electrical construction projects, including large-scale mission critical projects (e.g., data centers), ensuring completion on time and within budget.
  • Oversee field staff, subcontractors, and vendors, ensuring compliance with contracts, safety, and regulations.
  • Coordinate project scheduling, monitor accounting, and maintain profitability.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, vendors, subcontractors, and internal teams.
  • Lead project teams in alignment with company leadership principles.
  • Travel significantly to out-of-area jobsites, primarily in the Midwest.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in construction or electrical engineering, OR 5+ years of electrical field trade experience, preferred but not required.
  • 3+ years of experience as an Electrical Construction Project Manager on large construction projects, directly overseeing electrical work.
  • Experience in mission critical or advanced technologies (e.g., data centers) preferred.
  • Strong skills in project coordination, budgeting, and client/vendor relations.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to pass background, drug, and motor vehicle checks.
  • Willingness to travel extensively for out-of-area jobsites.
  • Local to the Kansas City metropolitan area preferred (not required)
