Construction Estimator

The Position

This full‑time, in‑office Construction Estimator role involves reviewing initial construction estimates in Xactimate and Symbility, providing detailed line‑item feedback, and creating new estimates from digital sources. The position may evolve into a management role overseeing a team and utilizing emerging technology to build high‑quality estimates. The estimator will collaborate with the VP of Construction to develop standard operating procedures and process maps to streamline estimating, and may work from home when needed.

Compensation: $70,000–$80,000 base salary plus up to a 20% bonus.

• Review construction estimates and provide justification through detailed line‑item notes.
• Create construction estimates from ground up using digital sources.
• Collaborate with the VP of Construction to develop SOPs and process maps.
• Work with the internal team, project managers, and insurance adjusters.

• Review job site information from photos and field notes.
• Estimate projects using Xactimate and Symbility.
• Provide training and feedback to estimators.
• Understand and apply monthly adjustments to estimating software.
• Submit complete estimates for approval within required timeframe.
• Experience with 3D scanning software such as Matterport is highly desirable.
• Communicate effectively with team, PMs, and insurance adjusters.
• Produce supplements and change orders as needed.

• Expertise in Xactimate and Symbility.
• Minimum 5 years of construction estimating experience (10+ preferred).
• Ability to deliver estimates with excellent profit margins.
• Previous experience working with TPAs required.
• Capability to handle high volume and meet tight deadlines.
• Experience training estimators in guidelines and industry trends.
