Location:
Champaign, IL
• Starting Salary: $70,000 - $80,000 annually.
We’re looking for a Construction Superintendent. Salary is negotiable based on experience. This position includes a company vehicle and is eligible for a yearly bonus.
Duties and Responsibilities- Direct communication with customers throughout the entire project to ensure excellent customer service.
- Management and scheduling of direct report carpenters.
- Ensure technical problems with installations and troubleshooting assignments are communicated to the Regional Construction Manager.
- Ensure material, supplies, permits, licenses, and inspections are obtained by foremen and carpenters in a timely and efficient manner.
- Ensure timely and quality completion of all construction and carpentry projects.
- Ensure adherence to the construction scope detailing time and material specifications, and communicate any discrepancies.
- Assist in change order estimating, approval process, and documentation.
- Maintain a safe, secure, and healthy work environment.
- Ensure productivity of all construction division employees.
- Review job cost reports to monitor labor and material expenses.
- Schedule, price, and monitor subcontractor performance.
- Comply with all verbal and written safety practices, including use and maintenance of PPE and reading MSDSs.
- Adhere to and enforce company policies specified in the Employee Handbook and DSI Safety Manual.
- Drive a company vehicle to customer locations.
- Execute all work to meet or exceed applicable regulations and quality standards while providing world‑class customer service.
- Maintain a clean and neat job site, leaving a first‑class impression of our work.
- Establish and maintain a schedule to ensure all services are delivered on time, professionally, and with empathy, including participation in the on‑call rotation (some nights and weekends).
- Perform other duties as required, which may fall outside the regular scope of the job.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Minimum 5 years of hands‑on construction experience.
- 2 years of project management experience (preferred).
- Strong remodeling/restoration experience (preferred).
- Ability to run multiple projects simultaneously.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Reliable transportation.
- Ability to move and/or lift 50+ lbs.
- Pass background check and drug screen.
- Xactimate experience (preferred).
