Shepherd Staff is honored to be working with New Horizon Church in Champaign, Illinois as they search for their next Director Of Worship Ministries. The Director Of Worship Ministries will step into a pivotal season, bringing fresh creativity, collaborative leadership, and spiritual depth to the worship life of the church. This role will own the development of engaging, Spirit led worship environments while building and discipling a thriving team. Success in this role looks like increased congregational engagement, a unified and growing worship team, and a more creative, intentional approach to worship planning.

This role will focus on cultivating meaningful, engaging worship experiences that align with New Horizon's mission of disciple-making. In the first 12–18 months, success will include strengthening the worship culture, building a healthy and growing team, and implementing more creative and intentional planning processes. This position reports to the Lead Pastor and works closely with staff and ministry leaders across the church.

Weekly rhythms will include service planning, team rehearsals, volunteer development, and collaboration with staff to ensure alignment across ministries. The Director will also help shape the broader worship strategy and environment of the church.

Responsibilities include:

• Leading and overseeing all aspects of Sunday worship services
• Recruiting, training, and discipling worship and tech team members
• Planning and designing engaging, creative worship experiences with pastoral leadership
• Leading rehearsals and ensuring musical and technical excellence
• Overseeing worship technology including audio, lighting, projection, and livestream
• Fostering a spiritually healthy and unified worship team culture
• Collaborating with staff and ministry leaders to support churchwide worship needs
• Developing and maintaining worship environments and stage design
• Providing clear and consistent communication with staff, volunteers, and congregation
• Exploring and implementing creative elements including media, video, and special events
