Job Title: Substitute Teacher

Location: The High School of St. Thomas More – Champaign, IL

Reports to: Principal

Job Type: On-Call

The Substitute Teacher steps into the classroom to deliver pre-planned lessons, maintain a productive learning environment, and support the academic and spiritual growth of students. This role upholds our mission to grow disciples by fostering a nurturing and faith-centered classroom environment.

• Instruction: Follow the lesson plans provided by the classroom teacher to deliver engaging and effective instruction.
• Classroom Management: Maintain a safe and respectful classroom environment that supports learning.
• Faith Integration: Uphold and model Catholic teachings and values in daily interactions.
• Support: Assist students with their academic needs and provide encouragement throughout the day.
• Communication: Report any significant events or concerns to the school administration.

To be considered for this role, you must meet the following requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree and active Illinois Substitute Certification ()
• Commitment to Catholic values and the mission of Catholic education
• Strong classroom management skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

• Experience teaching in a Catholic school or faith-based setting
• Demonstrated flexibility and adaptability to different teaching environments

• $15.00 per hour
• This position is not eligible for benefits.
