Head Start Teacher

Position Overview

The Head Start Teacher is responsible for providing leadership in the classroom and carrying out a developmentally appropriate educational program to meet the individual needs of each child and the Illinois Early Learning Standards. The Teacher creates a positive learning environment where Head Start children gain the skills, knowledge, and attitudes that lead to future school success. Our culture requires teaching staff to ensure a supportive and welcoming environment every day and fosters a sense of safety for staff, families, and children.

• Ability to fulfill all DCFS requirements, including a physical and criminal background check.
• Must have an AA or BS in Early Childhood Education.
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus.
• Demonstrated exemplary attendance and dependability.
• Ability to practice civility at all times.
• Passion for children and families and ability to support their success for self-sufficiency.
• Creative ability to develop a positive classroom environment that makes learning engaging, effective, and fun.

• Starting Hourly Wage: $19.00 - $20.00 (CDA), $20.00 - $21.00 (AA), $25.00 - $26.00 (BA), $26.91 - $27.91 (MS) Depending On Qualifications
