  • Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with Special Education Endorsement
Compensation
  • The salary is based on the Collective Bargaining Agreement with the Champaign Federation of Teachers, which includes a different level of compensation for positions designated as "hard to fill." The full salary schedule and the Hard to Fill positions list are available on our website. Experienced teachers receive unlimited experience credit for service outside the District. New teachers may request up to $2,000 as a salary advance to help with relocation expenses or other needs.

    100% of a teacher's contributions to TRS are paid by the Board of Education. The Board currently pays 100% of a teacher's employee-only health, dental, and term life insurance, with minimal cost for vision insurance. Additional compensation is available through stipends, differentials, and extra duty pay during the regular school year and summer.
  • The District offers an additional $1,500 annual stipend for teachers who hold a national board certification from the National Board for Professional Teaching Standards.
  • Individuals hired into a 1.0 FTE position in the CFT bargaining unit after October 1, 2023 are eligible for a $1,500 Sign-On Bonus. Details can be found on the Human Resources page of our website.
