- The salary for this position is determined by the Collective Bargaining Agreement with the Champaign Federation of Teachers, which includes a higher level for positions designated as "hard to fill."
- New teachers may request up to $2,000 as a salary advance to help with relocation expenses or other needs.
- 100% of a teacher's contributions to TRS are paid by the Board of Education.
- The Board pays 100% of employee-only health, dental, and term life insurance; minimal cost for vision insurance.
- Opportunities for teachers to earn additional compensation (stipends, differentials, extra duty pay, etc.) during the regular school year and in the summer.
- Additional $1,500 annual stipend for teachers who hold a national board certification from the National Board for Professional Teaching Standards.
- Individuals hired into a 1.0 FTE position in the CFT bargaining unit after October 1, 2023 are eligible for a $1,500 sign‑on bonus.
