Academy High is seeking an inspiring, entrepreneurial, and student-centered Head of School to lead our growing independent high school community in Champaign, Illinois.
Since its founding in 2017, Academy High has combined academic rigor with strong faculty support, helping students grow as thinkers, leaders, and community members. The school prepares students for college, meaningful work, and engaged citizenship through intellectually challenging and student-centered learning.
The Head of School will serve as the educational and strategic leader of the school, working closely with faculty and staff, families, students, and the Board of Directors to advance Academy High’s mission and vision.
Key Responsibilities- Provide visionary leadership for all aspects of the school
- Foster a joyful, intellectually vibrant school culture
- Support and develop exceptional faculty and staff
- Lead strategic planning, enrollment growth, and community partnerships
- Maintain strong relationships with students, families, alumni, and donors
- Ensure operational excellence in academics, finance, and administration
- Serve as the public face and chief ambassador of Academy High

Desired Qualifications- Bachelor’s degree required, graduate degree preferred, in education or related field
- Demonstrated leadership experience in education or a mission‑driven organization
- Passion for innovative, student‑centered learning
- Strong communication and relationship‑building skills
- Strategic thinking acumen combined with practical execution skills
- Experience with fundraising, enrollment, or organizational growth is a plus
