Support Services Aides - Paraprofessionals 26-27

Description: Mahomet‑Seymour CUSD #3 is currently seeking dependable and student‑centered Paraprofessionals to support classroom instruction and student learning in the  school year. Paraprofessionals work under the supervision of certified staff to assist with academic, behavioral, and social‑emotional needs while helping maintain a safe and positive learning environment.

Responsibilities
  • Assist teachers with the implementation of daily instructional activities.
  • Provide individual and small group support to reinforce learning concepts.
  • Support students with organization, task completion, and engagement.
  • Assist with classroom management and behavior support strategies.
  • Supervise students during transitions, lunch, recess, and other assigned times.
  • Help maintain a structured, safe, and supportive classroom environment.
  • Collaborate with teachers and support staff to meet student needs.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation as directed.
  • Demonstrate professionalism and maintain confidentiality.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Illinois Paraprofessional License (or Teaching License) or ability to obtain required licensure.
  • Experience working with school‑aged children preferred.
  • Ability to build positive relationships with students and staff.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to be flexible, patient, and responsive to student needs.
  • Applicants must be willing to be trained in crisis prevention and intervention and must pass a physical ability test.

NOTE: Our existing 4‑year collective bargaining agreement will expire at the end of the  school year and we will be negotiating a new agreement that will begin with the  school year.
