TITLE:

Substitute Teacher

RATE: $130/day for substitute teachers $120/day for substitute paraprofessionals (aides)

• Valid and appropriate Illinois licensure (PEL, SUB, STS, or ELS/PARA w/ B.S. degree).
• License registered with the Regional Office of Education - 53
• Successful completion of fingerprint based criminal background check (IL State Police and FBI), Sex Offender and Violent Youth Offender screening.
• Successful completion of a physical exam.
• If you do not currently hold a substitute teaching license but would like to apply for one, please contact the Regional Office of Education in East Peoria.

Once you have completed the application, please contact Mrs. Cox in the district office for an appointment to complete the necessary paperwork. Kim Cox, Human Resources - Phone:  Ext. 2405 or

• The original approval letter from the ROE along with the criminal history reports from the Illinois State Police and FBI (to be completed at the ROE).
• A copy of the Statement of Physical Fitness from a physician.
• Copies of college transcripts
• Appropriate forms of identification as required for the I-9 - Employment Eligibility Verification form. (ex. Passport or Driver’s License and Social Security Card).

To create classroom conditions conducive to a good learning situation.

• Follows lesson plans and instructions provided by the teacher.
• Promotes a classroom environment that is safe and conducive to student learning.
• Ensures that student conduct conforms with the school standards and school district discipline policies.
• Adheres to a professional code of ethics which includes confidentiality of school related matters.
