Health Teacher – Summer School

Champaign, IL – Pay: $40.00 per hour

High School Summer School Program at Centennial High School, Summer 2026. First session runs Monday–Thursday, June 2‑22, 2026. Second session runs Monday–Thursday, June 23‑July 13, 2026. Student contact hours are 8:00 a.m.–1:15 p.m.; staff duty is 7:45 a.m.–1:30 p.m.; staff meetings and professional learning sessions are paid. Teachers are remunerated for prep and grading time as specified.

• Valid Illinois High School Professional Educator License with High School Health Endorsement

• Teach high school health subjects during the scheduled sessions.
• Maintain student contact hours from 8:00 a.m.–1:15 p.m.
• Be on duty from 7:45 a.m.–1:30 p.m.; work paid staff meetings from 1:30 p.m.–2:30 p.m. each session.
• Attend a one‑hour meeting on June 1, 2026 if teaching both sessions.
• Participate in professional learning on Monday, June 1, 2026 (9:00 a.m.–12:00 p.m.).
• Complete paid preparation time at the beginning of each session and grading time from 1:30 p.m.–3:30 p.m. on the final day of each session.
• Work with students only if enrollment requirements are met.
• Be prepared for variations in dates and times for special programs such as Behind the Wheel and ESY.

• Hourly rate: $40.00
• Paid for all instructional and meeting time as specified in the job responsibilities.
