Qualifications

• Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with Special Education Endorsement

Compensation

• The salary for this position is determined based on the Collective Bargaining Agreement with the Champaign Federation of Teachers. The schedule includes a higher level for Hard to Fill positions. A full salary schedule and a Hard to Fill list are available on the district website.
• New teachers may request up to $2,000 as a salary advance to help with relocation expenses or other needs.
• 100% of a teacher's Contributions to TRS are paid by the Board of Education. The Board currently pays 100% of employee-only health, dental, and term life insurance. Vision insurance has minimal employee cost.
• There are opportunities for additional compensation (stipends, differentials, extra duty pay, etc.) during the regular school year and in the summer.
• Extra stipend: $1,500 annually for Teachers who hold National Board Certification.
• Sign-On Bonus: $1,500 for individuals hired into a 1.0 FTE position in the CFT bargaining unit after October 1, 2023. See Human Resources page for details.
