Position: Paraprofessional
Location: Chicago Heights, IL
Job Type: Full-Time, Contract
Term: School Year
Job Responsibilities:
- Assist classroom teachers with instructional activities and classroom management
- Provide one-on-one support to students with special needs or learning disabilities
- Implement behavior management strategies as directed by classroom teachers or special education staff
- Support students in completing academic tasks and assignments
- Assist with the supervision of students during recess, lunch, and other non-instructional periods
- Collaborate with school staff and parents to ensure the academic and social-emotional needs of students are met
- Maintain a safe and supportive learning environment for all students
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Paraprofessional certification or willingness to obtain certification
- Experience working with children or individuals with special needs preferred
- Ability to communicate effectively and work collaboratively as part of a team
- Commitment to supporting the academic and personal growth of students
