- Appropriate coaching certification as regulated by the IESA.
- Illinois Professional Educator License.
- Strong knowledge of the sport and ability to teach and develop student‑athletes.
- Ability to build relationships and serve as a positive role model for students.
- Effective communication skills with students and adults.
- Willingness and ability to work nights, holidays, evenings and weekends.
- Willing to travel with the team to different locations for practices/games, as needed.
This is a Differential position. The differential pay scale can be found in the Collective Bargaining Agreement with the Champaign Federation of Teachers. Coaches with 5+ years of experience are compensated at a higher rate than those with more limited experience. Employment as a coach is on an at‑will basis.
