- The salary for this position is determined by the Collective Bargaining Agreement with the Champaign Federation of Teachers, which includes a different level of compensation for positions designated as “hard to fill.” The full salary schedule and the hard‑to‑fill positions list are available on the District’s website. Experienced teachers receive unlimited experience credit for service outside the District. New teachers may request up to $2,000 as a salary advance to help with relocation expenses or other needs.
100% of a teacher’s contribution to TRS is paid by the Board. The Board pays 100% of teacher's employee‑only health, dental, and term life insurance. Vision insurance has a minimal employee cost. Additional opportunities exist for stipends, differentials, and extra duty pay. - The District offers an additional $1,500 annual stipend for teachers who hold a national board certification from the National Board for Professional Teaching Standards.
- Individuals hired into a 1.0 FTE position in the CFT bargaining unit after October 1 2023 are eligible for a $1,500 sign‑on bonus.
- The position will remain posted until the hiring process is complete; interviews may be conducted February 26 2025. Interested applicants should submit their materials ASAP to ensure consideration.
- The District is willing to consider candidates who can begin work immediately as well as those who can begin next school year. If hired to begin immediately, continuing employment next year is possible but not guaranteed.
