The Madison-Champaign Educational Service Center is seeking a dedicated and student-centered Itinerant Early Childhood Intervention Specialist to provide specialized instruction and support to preschool-aged children with disabilities in a variety of educational settings. The successful candidate will collaborate with families, preschool staff, related service providers, and multidisciplinary teams to ensure students receive high-quality services in the least restrictive environment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Provide direct and indirect special education services to preschool-aged children with identified disabilities.
- Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) in compliance with state and federal regulations.
- Conduct ongoing assessments and collect data to monitor student progress and inform instructional decisions.
- Collaborate with general education preschool staff, related service providers, administrators, and families to support student success.
- Participate in Evaluation Team Reports (ETRs), IEP meetings, and other required special education processes.
- Support inclusive practices and facilitate student participation in natural learning environments.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation, progress reports, and compliance records.
- Travel between assigned buildings, preschool programs, and districts within the ESC service area.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Special Education.
- Early Childhood Intervention Specialist licensure or appropriate Ohio certification for preschool special education services.
- Knowledge of special education laws, regulations, and best practices.
- Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills.
- Ability to travel throughout the service area and maintain a valid driver's license.
- Experience working with preschool-aged children with disabilities.
- Experience developing and implementing IEPs.
- Familiarity with inclusive preschool practices and early childhood development.
