The High School of St. Thomas More is currently seeking a Substitute Teacher to inspire and educate students in faith and academics. About the RoleThe Substitute Teacher steps into the classroom to deliver pre-planned lessons, maintain a productive learning environment, and support the academic and spiritual growth of students. This role upholds our mission to grow disciples by fostering a nurturing and faith-centered classroom environment.
What You Will Do- Instruction:
Follow the lesson plans provided by the classroom teacher to deliver engaging and effective instruction. - Classroom Management:
Maintain a safe and respectful classroom environment that supports learning. - Faith Integration:
Uphold and model Catholic teachings and values in daily interactions. - Support:
Assist students with their academic needs and provide encouragement throughout the day. - Communication:
Report any significant events or concerns to the school administration.
To be considered for this role, you must meet the following requirements:
- Bachelor's degree
- Active Illinois Substitute Certification
- Commitment to Catholic values and the mission of Catholic education
- Strong classroom management skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Top candidates will also have:
- Experience teaching in a Catholic school or faith-based setting
- Demonstrated flexibility and adaptability to different teaching environments
$15.00 per hour. This position is not eligible for benefits. Opportunities to work as needed and support the school community. Gain hands-on teaching experience in a supportive environment.
