Position: Elementary Music Teacher (PreK - 8)

Music Teacher

St. Matthew School is seeking a passionate, energetic, and student-centered music teacher to join our school community for the  school year. This position is flexible based on candidate strengths and availability. We are open to full-time or part-time applicants, licensed teachers or experienced musicians/music instructors, candidates interested in general music, choir, band, liturgical music, or a combination, retired teachers, graduate students, or professionals seeking a flexible schedule.

We know exceptional music educators come from many backgrounds, and we value enthusiasm, creativity, and a love for working with children. What makes this position special includes a supportive, faith-filled school community, strong parent involvement and appreciation for the arts, established music traditions and performances, flexibility to shape the role around your talents, and opportunity to build meaningful relationships with students PK8.

Smaller class sizes and positive school culture are also part of the package.

Responsibilities may include teaching general music classes PK8, leading choir and/or band, preparing students for concerts and school performances, assisting with school Mass music and liturgical celebrations, encouraging student confidence, creativity, and participation, and collaborating with teachers and staff to support school events.

We are looking for someone who enjoys working with children of all ages, creates a warm, engaging classroom environment, has experience in music instruction, performance, or accompaniment, is organized, dependable, and collaborative, supports the mission and values of Catholic education, and teaching license is preferred but not required for all candidates.

Schedule flexibility is available. Possible options include part-time mornings or afternoons, shared responsibilities, choir/band only positions, and flexible scheduling for university students or retired educators.

St. Matthew Catholic School's salary scale for this position considers years of licensed experience and educational attainment. For the  school year, the salary range for qualified full-time candidates is $42,000-$60,000. Please note salary is only one component of the total benefits package. The package also includes medical, dental, prescription, and vision plans to keep you and your family healthy, paid leave for vacation, sick leave, and holidays, retirement savings through a 403(b) retirement plan with employer contributions, long-term disability coverage, and life insurance.
