This is a hands‑on engineering role supporting advanced R&D and production systems where real hardware is designed, built, tested, and transitioned into manufacturing.
You’ll collaborate with engineers and scientists on next‑generation hardware, assembling and improving high‑performance vacuum systems that move from concept to working equipment.
If you enjoy building, troubleshooting, and seeing your work become part of a finished system, this role offers far more impact than a typical lab or maintenance position.
What You’ll Do- Assemble, test, and maintain high and ultra‑high vacuum (HV/UHV) systems
- Perform helium leak detection, troubleshooting, and system repairs
- Support prototype system builds and production equipment
- Integrate pumps, gauges, valves, sensors, and instrumentation
- Assist with wiring and digital controls for monitoring and system operation
- Create and maintain build documentation and test data
- Support transition from R&D systems to production‑ready equipment
- Mechanical, Electrical, or related technical background (degree or equivalent experience)
- 2–5+ years of hands‑on experience with vacuum systems, instrumentation, or complex electromechanical equipment
- Experience with rotary, turbo, or cryogenic pumps, gauges, fittings, and leak detection
- Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail
- Comfortable working in lab and light manufacturing environments
- Currently and indefinitely able to work for any employer without sponsorship
