In this role, you will have the opportunity to work on safety analysis of critical IPs in Rivian’s RAP SOC, understand safety architecture, and perform fault injection validation tests.
Responsibilities- Receive training in functional safety, ISO
26262 Standard, safety analysis and various tools for analysis, requirements, validation planning, etc. - Work on creating simulation models or enhancing the existing models of critical RAP SOC IP blocks
- Create fault injection automation flows to test the architecture vulnerability of RAP SOC IPs
- Review and report on fault injection metrics, derive insights regarding resilience of the design and present it to the team
- Learn from the reports to plan for additional fault injection testing on vulnerable parts of the design
- Must be currently pursuing a bachelor’s, master’s, or PhD degree at the University of Illinois Urbana‑Champaign
- Actively pursuing a degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering
- Electrical Hardware and digital circuits knowledge (preferably CPUs, GPUs)
- Must be comfortable with RTL design, machine learning concepts, and design verification environments
- Basic understanding of the ISO
26262 standard is preferred - Basic scripting knowledge is required (Python)
- Must be located in Champaign, IL and able to work out of our office in the Research Park.
- This opportunity requires 40 hours in the summer, with opportunity to continue working 20 hours in the fall and spring.
- This project will require weekly task status update and monthly project update.
The salary range for this role is $25.00–40.00 per hour for Normal based applicants. This is the lowest to highest salary we in good faith believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting. An employee’s position within the salary range will be based on several factors including, but not limited to, specific competencies, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, shift, and organizational needs.
