Senior Equipment Mechanical Engineer

We are seeking Mechanical Engineers to join our Equipment Consulting team. This is a unique opportunity for an entrepreneurial, highly driven individual with a well rounded skill set whose responsibilities extend beyond those of traditional engineers.

We welcome candidates from diverse backgrounds, including those with military or defense related experience, who bring strong technical training, adaptability, and problem solving skills developed in fast paced, real world environments.

The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in mechanical engineering, along with the flexibility and strategic mindset to take on a variety of technical and investigative tasks. Candidates with hands on experience in mechanical systems, equipment maintenance, diagnostics, or similar technical roles, whether gained through industry, education, or military service, are encouraged to apply.

• Inspect and evaluate damages to different types of mechanical and electronic systems, such as machinery, refrigeration systems, furnaces, conveyance systems, elevators, UPS, boilers, medical equipment, laboratory equipment, injection molding machinery, industrial plants, and a variety of other mechanical and industrial equipment
• Analyze requirements and specifications to determine comparable equipment replacements
• Provide research to determine costs associated with equipment replacement, including new and used equipment
• Produce detailed written reports, typically three or more pages in length, on a regular basis

• Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering BSME with over 5 years of experience in engineering design, analysis, or applications
• Must reside in Chicago, Illinois
• Must be willing and able to travel 30 to 50 percent of the time, sometimes at short notice but not for extended periods
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills
• Computer skills including Word, Excel, and Power Point
• A desire to learn, excel, and grow within the profession

Preferred experience may include work in military operations, equipment maintenance, aviation, heavy equipment, facilities engineering, or other highly technical environments involving complex machinery and systems

• Must be able to sit for long periods of time
• Must be able to travel to various project sites as needed
• Prolonged periods of standing, bending, and kneeling
• Positive and professional attitude when interacting with clients and team members
• Comfortable working in a remote or hybrid environment
• Flexibility to work outside of standard business hours when needed
• Ability to accommodate approximately 30 to 50 percent travel
