In 2019, Sky Specs launched Horizon to be a platform for Sky Specs to offer a multi-layered solution for customers that includes: data collection, wind turbine blade engineering expertise, and a place for all stakeholders to collaborate to manage and analyze massive amounts of data, spot trends, and create plans for high-cost repair campaigns.

Since 2021, Sky Specs acquired three companies specializing in wind turbine drivetrain monitoring, financial management and automated turbine data analytics and fleet optimization, further expanding our offering in the market. Ultimately, this will help reduce the cost and risk of operations for the industry.

• Execute the inspection of wind turbines utilizing remote technologies such as internal inspection drones or rovers/crawlers. Which will include:
  • Manipulation of the operational controls of customer wind turbine assets and support equipment
  • Climbing Customer Wind Turbines
  • Entering nacelle and hub areas of wind turbine
  • Ensuring compliance with all relevant internal Sky Specs, industry and site safety protocol while operating on customer wind turbines
  • Operational execution of internal inspections with remote sensing technologies
  • Troubleshooting of electronic and mechanical inspection equipment
• Travel across the USA with an inspection team on extensive travel rotations, up to 5 weeks “on” and 1 week “off”
• Follow company operational & safety processes and procedures to ensure efficiency, safety and quality of work.
• Maintain relevant industry training, certifications and currencies for operational deployment needs
• Provide feedback to operational leadership and safety team on operational processes & procedures
• Manage personal logistics with continual guidance and support from project managers and company leadership using Slack and phone calls
• Work with Resource Manager and Delivery teams to support project scheduling and execution
• Collaborate with Inspection Services colleagues, Safety and Quality to ensure completion of projects on-time and within data quality standards.

• 1+ years of experience in field services preferred, field operations or a similar function
  - or completion of wind turbine technical training school program
• Excellent analytical, organizational, planning and communication skills; high attention to detail; consistent follow through; a stellar team player
• WINDA  GWO BST (modules 1-4) or equivalent alternative training
• Confined Space Training
