Accounting Manager

A leading, multi-site food and beverage manufacturing organization in the NW burbs is seeking a strategic Accounting Manager to oversee daily accounting operations, drive process improvements, and maintain robust financial controls. Headquartered in Illinois with national and international manufacturing operations, the company relies on this role to lead general ledger, accounts payable, and accounts receivable functions while fostering a high-performing, collaborative team environment.

The manager will spearhead the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes, ensuring all financial statements are accurate and compliant with GAAP. Collaborating closely with senior leadership, this position will also be pivotal in budget preparation, financial forecasting, and driving financial automation initiatives across their enterprise platforms.

To qualify for this position, candidates must possess a bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance, alongside over eight years of accounting experience that includes a minimum of one year of direct people management. A deep understanding of business operations within a manufacturing environment is required, and a CPA certification is highly preferred. The ideal candidate will have strong technical proficiency in major ERP and reporting systems, advanced Excel skills, and a proven track record of managing tight deadlines and multiple complex projects simultaneously.

Outstanding communication skills are vital for interacting with all levels of the organization, and the role requires minimal travel (up to 5%) to support team members at secondary domestic facilities.
