Accountant Analyst​/Specialist Sr

Overview

Advanced Excel skillset required — large data set management, reconciliations, pivot tables, and data analysis to support close and reporting.

The Senior Accountant Specialist is responsible for at least one specialty area listed within the Essential Job Function section below. Other responsibilities include preparation and reporting of assigned monthly financial statement components and related financial activities.

• Work Experience:
  
  Senior Accountant at Carle (or equivalent)

• Coordinate the annual operating budget process including system development and maintenance, management education and support, interaction with the executive team, analytical review and monitoring of budget inputs, and compilation for board review and approval.
• Prepare monthly financial and operating statements for the assigned Strategic Business Unit (SBU), including budget variance analysis, reconciliations, and analytical review.
• Coordinate audit activities, collaborate with administrators, and assist with annual budget development and 990 schedules as applicable.
• Coordinate third‑party cost report preparation, including data compilation and validation, and collaborate with cost‑report consultants.
• Administer accounting system (fixed assets, general ledger, data warehouse, etc.), maintain user access, and produce ad‑hoc reports.
• Coordinate federal and state income tax return preparation including the 990 form for nonprofit organizations, serve as accounting department resource, and collaborate with consultants on tax matters.
• Review, validate, and correct incoming financial data to ensure integrity for accurate reporting.
• Assess and enhance internal controls to minimize financial reporting risk and improprieties.
• Assist with non‑assigned specialty areas as needed.

Compensation range: $33.72 per hour to $58 per hour. The actual compensation will depend on experience, qualifications, location, training, licenses, shifts worked, and compensation model.
