** Role:
** As a Mortgage Loan Officer, you will serve as a trusted advisor to members throughout the home financing journey, helping them navigate the mortgage process from application through closing. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys building relationships, identifying member needs, developing referral opportunities, and delivering exceptional service.

As a member of the face of our organization the Mortgage Loan Officer will:

* Provide solutions to both internal and external members
** Essential Functions & Responsibilities:
*** Consistently provide outstanding service focusing on member service and member loyalty skills.
* Consistently identify the needs of members and recommend appropriate credit union solutions or credit counseling in order to build member loyalty and meet or exceed organizational goals.
* Review and evaluate information on mortgage loan documents to determine if buyer, property, and loan conditions meet credit union and governmental guidelines.
* Own internal and external member problems, issues and complaints and ensure the appropriate follow up to achieve proper resolution.
* Effective communication with borrower to clear underwriting conditions for final loan approval and maintain work flow to meet closing deadlines.
* Consistently follow-up with preapproved borrowers, schedule appointments, accept walk-ins inquires and return phone calls in a timely fashion.
** Performance Measurements:
** 1. Consistently meet all service standards when delivering both internal and external service as measured by set Quality Loop and internal service results.
2. Ensure that all approved loans comply with established loan standards.
3. Continuously meet and/ or exceed established goals and objectives identified in the annual performance goal document for this position.
4. Promote UICCU mortgage department by attending events and supporting activities that will generate mortgage business.
5. Work additional hours necessary to keep up with mortgage business or business development needs.
6. Maintain a thorough knowledge of credit union's product and services as well as compliance items (HR,BSA/AML and OFAC) through self-study and available training and development opportunities. Must receive passing score on all required assessments.
7. Maintain appropriate level of attendance and timeliness to ensure that highest level of service to both internal and external members. When possible, absences should be scheduled in advance.## Qualifications
** Experience
* * One year to three years of similar or related experience.

** Education**  (1) A two-year college degree or (2) Completion of a specialized course of study at a business or trade school or (3) Completion of a specialized and extensive in-house training or apprenticeship program.
** Interpersonal Skills
** A significant level of trust and diplomacy is required, in addition to normal courtesy and tact. Work involves extensive personal contact with others and/or is usually of a personal or sensitive nature. Work may involve motivating or influencing others. Outside contacts become important and fostering sound relationships with other entities (companies and/or individuals) becomes necessary.
** Other Skills
** The Mortgage Loan Officer must have knowledge of the secondary market and experience with first and second mortgage residential real estate lending.
