Regional Director of Operations – Skilled Nursing Facilities

As our portfolio continues to grow, we are seeking an accomplished Regional Director of Operations to provide strategic oversight, operational discipline, and inspirational leadership across multiple skilled nursing facilities.
This role is ideal for a Licensed Nursing Home Administrator with deep multi-facility experience who thrives in complex environments and leads with accountability, collaboration, and a commitment to excellence. The Regional Director of Operations will, under the leadership of the VP of Operations, partner closely with facility leadership and regional teams to drive quality outcomes, regulatory compliance, census growth, and financial sustainability—while maintaining a strong focus on resident-centered care.
Key ResponsibilitiesProvide strategic leadership and operational oversight for multiple skilled nursing facilities.
Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local regulatory requirements.
Drive performance across clinical, operational, financial, and workforce KPIs.
Coach, mentor, and develop Administrators and regional leaders to build strong, accountable teams.
Lead operational turnarounds and stabilization efforts in underperforming facilities.
Collaborate with clinical, finance, HR, and marketing teams to implement best practices.
Advance census growth strategies and strengthen community and referral relationships.
Analyze operational trends and implement sustainable quality and cost-control initiatives.
Foster trust-based relationships with residents, families, staff, and external partners.
Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare Administration, Business, or related field (Master’s preferred).
Current Licensed Nursing Home Administrator (required).
7–10+ years of progressive leadership experience in skilled nursing, including multi-site oversight.
Demonstrated success in improving quality ratings, financial outcomes, and employee engagement.
Strong working knowledge of CMS regulations, reimbursement models, and PDPM.
Exceptional leadership, communication, and analytical skills.
Ability to travel regularly throughout Illinois.
