Position: Mental Health Counselor (LSW/LPC)- Mattis Psych

The Mental Health Counselor provides outpatient mental health counseling to patients within the Behavioral Health Department under the direction of a clinical supervisor.

    Licensed Social Worker (LSW) – Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation (IDFPR)
  • Licenses/Certifications:

    Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) – Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation (IDFPR)
  • Work Experience:

    Providing therapy in a clinical setting – 1+ years
  • Specialized Knowledge and

    Skills:

    Strong communication and listening skills.
  • Specialized Knowledge and

    Skills:

    Strong documentation skills.
  • Specialized Knowledge and

    Skills:

    Knowledge and competence utilizing a variety of counseling techniques and interventions.

Responsibilities
  • Provide mental health counseling to patients and their families through individual and/or group settings.
  • Perform mental health evaluations, including assessing need for ongoing counseling or other services.
  • Provide counseling to patients, using techniques and interventions appropriate to the patient's needs.
  • Work with patient to develop treatment plan, including specific goals and objectives to be addressed in session.
  • Complete appropriate documentation in medical record within time frames established by departmental policy.
  • Identify concerns and make referrals to other treatments as needed.
  • Provide communication back to referring providers about patient diagnosis, treatment plan, and progress as appropriate.
  • Maintain patient confidentiality and fulfill provider responsibilities as specified under HIPAA, the Illinois Mental Health and Developmental Disabilities Code, and the Illinois Mental Health and Developmental Disabilities Confidentiality Act.

Compensation And Benefits

The compensation range for this position is $27.36 per hour - $45.69 per hour. This represents a good faith minimum and maximum range for the role at the time of posting by Carle Health. The actual compensation offered to a candidate will be dependent on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, the candidate’s experience, qualifications, location, training, licenses, shifts worked and compensation model.
