Full Time New Hampshire Certified School Psychologist
DescriptionSAU #53 is seeking a full time School Psychologist to become a member of a highly skilled and dedicated multi-disciplinary team. The school psychologist will conduct assessments and provide counseling services for students, as needed. This is an SAU based position working with students in kindergarten through high school. This position starts in the school year.
Job SummaryThe successful candidate must be able to administer psychological, intellectual, and academic evaluations to students identified with or suspected of having disabilities. These evaluations must result in comprehensive written reports and verbal presentations detailing outcomes and recommendations. The school psychologist serves as a collaborative member of the IEP team assisting with interpretation of independent evaluations, determinations of special education eligibility and recommendations for appropriate special education programming.
Consultation with parents, teachers, and administrators regarding students with disabilities is also part of the role responsibilities. Strong verbal and written communication skills, good organization/time management skills, and knowledge of special education procedures are fundamental. Ability to fulfill duties as needed for the Medicaid to Schools Program is also needed. The successful candidate must also possess strong skills in mental health counseling to be provided to students, as prescribed by IEP teams.
Current certification as a School Psychologist through the New Hampshire Department of Education and the New Hampshire Board of Psychologists.
